I bought one of these bracelets recently and Simon W fitted it to a 6139-6000 Speedtimer for me as part of the overhaul of the watch.

The bracelet is IMO no more comfortable/uncomfortable than any of the Seiko OEM bracelets on the 6138/6139 range. But the fit for the end links is really poor. As suggested upthread, some filing and bending of the metal would probably help…..

I paid $175 from the Philippines.

Notwithstanding the reservations about fit, on balance I’m very happy with it.

By the way, I have been looking this year on YJ for an original example. I did see one of the earlier ones (with ‘600’ stamped on the end links) which sold not long ago for over £600 ($800). But I have also noticed a number of these aftermarket versions, clearly identifiable as such by the font on the end link, being offered on YJ as ‘original NOS’ and selling for $3/4/500. So the concerns about these being eventually marketed by someone as ‘original’, as expressed upthread by Koekoek and Chenpofu, seem to have been well-founded.

Many thanks to Tom for opening this thread. I would have been very nervous of buying one of these without the valuable info he posted here. And I probably would have ended up being scammed on YJ by acquiring one of these same copies for five or six hundred bucks advertised as ‘NOS original’.……

Thanks for this informative thread. Apologies for reviving an old thread.

Does anyone have a single 6139 600 end link for sale?

Hi TWS team,
Can someone tell me which supplier I need to go with for one of these reproduction bracelets thanks?
Price guide would be appreciated also, DM if need be.
Thanks Michael

I just bought another one last month. It arrived this week at Sir Alan’s workshop - I had it sent straight to him. I believe that it is the same item and same seller as the one I bought last year and posted about above.

As you no doubt know, Uncle Seiko recently released his own version of this bracelet. It has been favourably reviewed by a number of buyers

I can't give any exact info regarding when the early Speedtimer bracelet was replaced by the Late Speedtimer bracelet but I can narrow it down a bit. The Early bracelet is from a Speedtimer dated June of 69' while the later version is dated from a Speedtimer from Nov 70'.
I'm on a mission to narrow this down even further. So what I've understood so far is that:

1) the Early Speedtimer bracelet with the 6139 - 600 end link marking was from Feb 1969 until [unknown date] AND;
2) the Later Speedtimer bracelet with the XAA - 301 end link marking was in use from [at least] as early as Nov 1970.

My own watch is a Sept 1969 and my weird collecting OCD makes me want to try and buy the original matching bracelet for my exact watch.

Can anybody add more detail based on original bracelets that they had come with their 6139-6000 JDM models?

XAA301

That "9" in "XAA901" is a typo
