Hard to believe I've had this one since 1998.

Since I hit the pause button on new watch purchases, I've decided to scratch an itch.
Duarte provided the dial and chapter ring in December, and Jon (@Grammarofdesign) with lightning speed sent me the handset, which arrived yesterday.
Skx007 provided a donor (saved the crystal and insert from when I moded the watch)
Fresh as a daisy from this morning's building efforts. Thank you gentlemen.

Gorgeous. One of my dream grails I am on the hunt. When you get tired of it please let me know. I will maintain it for you with no charge. ;-)

Bit of a mystery watch today. Late 1940s, early 50s at best. Chromed case, center second and generous lume show some military dna, but it’s clearly not a wartime piece. Swiss-ish movements and Swiss-sounding brands without any markings and a somewhat crude movement finish shout Japan, loud and clear. I’m yet to find out what it actually is but for now I take it for either Seiko or Citizen using up their ebauches and cases at some point between 1948 and 1952-ish. It’s very pretty and after a full restore and new lume it makes a lovely piece of history. Any insights welcome.
