Hey guys. You've probably seen this watch in the WOYW thread but I wanted to share some thoughts about it and add some other photos for your entertainment. At 42mm across the bezel it wears nicely for my 6.75 inch wrist. It only weighs 106 grams on the Uncle Seiko waffle strap. I received the oem bracelet with it but I'm leaving it on the super comfy waffle strap. The design cues on this watch are just fantastic. From the all black bezel which appears to float above the case to the curvature of the case that hugs the wrist to the black crown with the white stripe, it's just a masterpiece of design.

I just love everything about this watch and I'm so proud to have it in my collection. Thank you David for taking such good care of it and thank you again Todd for offering me the opportunity to own such an iconic Seiko.

Congratulations Kenny, that is the best one.

I have always liked the Stargate gen 1 and after the initial noise when it was released, which is better the Stargate or the Spork etc, it got less recognition than it deserves. I have had all the gen 1 Stargates and several of the gen 2's but since starting my collection rationalisation only have the black gen 1 like Kenny's, (which I put a 4R36 in) and consider the nicest with the white one a close second.

Spencer has covered most of my thoughts on it rather nicely including how Seiko seem to miss what makes their classic vintage watches great in the eyes of the Seiko collector and lost one of the elements that makes the Gen 1 so good......the dial.

That's a very good post Mike and I'm thrilled to be in company of a fellow gen oner! I'm blessed to have it.
