hi have an old but mint (apart from movement) aqualand (one of the first made)straps perfect as is case ,bezel, glass.
have put new batt;s in after its been stood in a draw for years , lcd seems to flash and work sort of (get flashing quickly dots as when batts going dead)but not hands or second hand.
no idea as to what's wrong so thinking about taking the movement out and fitting another movement (cannot find a cal C02X movement anywhere) so looking at an automatic or quartz movement & new face, would keep the hands.,something descent though nothing crappy.
has anybody on here done this? or know what sort of movement would fit (without much trouble)
problem with these watches is citizen wont touch em after so long (as no parts available)
nothing available on the net,
I like the style ,and the watch ,so don't want to scrap ,would like to turn into a usable watch again.
any info .help, suggestion's
very much welcomed
thanks in advance
steve

Your Aqualand Watch ..........

Whats wrong with it you might think, ....... totally.
Ask around the Forum more , someone will answer you about this issue.
Maybe some minor parts to find, who knows.
Is it the C020 to be sure ? The movements are hare to find except you get a parts watch like on Ebay. The Diver you have post a picture of what you have. The part of removing the movement and replacing it I would say can be done. I have thought about doing that also with one I have for parts. I might still go and do it too. There are many MODD's done, why not do your own. It will be you very own original.
If done right you can customize it to still work. Doing this will require some work also. I would not say impossible. Realize it wont be original, but might look great. I have done some things that have surprized me and they have worked. Might look good when finished, never saw on yet done like you are saying to do, why not if thats your choice to try and do. The movement can be done. If you look at the old movement, you will see if its stripped down or taken out, you have a lot of room for another movement. Make a new ( INSERT ), movement holder to fit inside the case.
( The crown and stem is the only one to fix to work, but it might not be,
" Water Proof ", but be a wear-able one to use. )
You would have to make a new mounting place to put it on, but not impossible to do. You can re-use the old Dial also, why not. I have looked for replacement ones but they are very hard to find, but not lost I would say. Your are thinking on doing a customized watch from what you are saying. Work on it, do it good and accomplish what you set out to do, again.............. " WHY NOT, .......... DO IT. Then let us see what you have done.
" Nothing is that impossible to do ". I would really try it as a project of some kind. "
