I like all models and makes of about any watch brand out there. Heck, I think I like 'em all. And about vintage pieces...that could be another thread!. But I'm partial to Rolex and Tudor watches, they are really sweet watches for me. Some tastes >:D ....
And I'm pondering about getting myself a Tudor Black Bay, a really cool looking and great watch. In Europe you can find them in every Rolex AD. They are soon to be available in the USA. Really like the snowflake hands,

They come with a bracelet, a great vintage looking leather strap and a fantastic looking, specially made NATO fabric strap,[img]

Also would love to have in my collection a great and super cool Pelagos. This one have a heart in the form of a ETA 2824.
Really, you can't have it all....,
[img]

And the automatic helium escape valve,

The watch is in already incredible condition... the box however, is simply superb. No adjectives to describe it, except, MINTY!!

How'd you do that? Preserve it in a temperature and humidity-controlled vault with ultraviolet light to discourage the growth of mold?:)

On a 20mm Eulit palma perlon with OEM tudor buckle and trying out newly arrived SEIKO bezel protectors (yes it may be butt-ugly and sinful for some [emoji23] but it fulfils a purpose to protect my diver from rough play during my holidays which start today [emoji41])

This was something of a wreck when received. But with TLC and some diligent watchmaking it turned out very nice. All original excepting the crystal and crown. This watch was given to a Vietnam era Navy Seal by his men...who purloined the very worn watch...and after restoration re-presented it to a man who obviously knows how to lead

We'd be glad to hear the pre-quel... How the SEAL team purloined the watch. Was it from an NVA colonel or a Party cadre haranguing South Vietnamese villagers under the guns of a small unit of Vietcong (the cadre was wearing a Tudor to show the evils of the decadent capitalist society), and then the SEALS snuck in and .... then everything was silent. As in deathly silent...

Well, Rolex is pretty costly and difficult to maintain. How about Swiss Military Watch with model number SM34016.02 ?! :D Fully polished, elegant design and pretty good features installed.
Not difficult to maintain...but very possible to neglect...
Rolex are well-designed and executed. Tolerances are tightly machined...so regular service and genuine replacement parts put a movement back into new specifications...
They are an absolute pleasure to work in (especially when compared to many other manufacturers).

That said, would I pay the price for a NIB specimen...no...but there are a lot of opportunities in the pre-owned market which will provide enjoyment and preserve value.

BTW...my favorite watch right now is an Omega Constellation with 1300 (B21) movement...and my beater is an Accutron 219...but I also like my ThinOMatic, Sub, Val7750 Generic, IWC quartz, et al...so I'm not "Rolex or nothing at all"...
