Push the glass out, measure it - width and thickness and get a generic one. You can glue it in if the seal can't be reused.

Besides, if you were to dispense with the nylon crystal gasket, and glue a crystal in, you'd be looking at a larger diameter crystal (possibly 32.5mm) to compensate. Very odd. :undecided:

 

Could anyone point me to a replacement crystal for this particular model? I have browsed the internet, but it is a little confusing and I do not know what size or where to order from.

The Seiko part number for the original correct replacement crystal is 320W42GN00.

They're about if you're prepared to pay the price for originality.
Otherwise find yourself a good quality 'generic' replacement.
You're looking for a 32.0 diameter mineral glass, approx. 1.5mm thick with a small decorative polished bevel edge.

There's also a Sternkreuz equivalent part, p/n XMF320.927, which I would have recommended in the past, but the size of the polished bevel edges on their recent production has recently diminished to the point where it's smaller than you might find on a Cousins UK generic (like their p/n F150CMH320). I saw your comment Guy and agreed 100%, bodging should only ever be the very last option if ever.

I've come across it a few times - most recently on that rusty water-damaged 7A38-7020:

I'd initially assumed that yellowing around the edge of the crystal was rust, that had leeched up from inside the case. Wrong - it's old yellowed glue !

 

Agreed, no reason to glue in a pressed crystal, especially when most suppliers have generic plastic gaskets of all sizes if NOS can't be found.

 

You'll be surprised how often "watchmakers" use glue in their repair.
