This is a “Grail” watch for serious Seiko Tuna collectors, and a very rare watch indeed.

It is the Ref. 7C46-0AB0, Model S23611J1, of which it has been said, only 50 watches have been made (!) as reissued and reserved for exclusive sales only in Taiwan.
  • High quality quartz Seiko 7C46, 7 jewel movement
  • 1000M pressure rating
  • The dial here is different – it is a flat sapphire crystal, AR coated inside
  • A large monocoque inner casing, made of TiN coated titanium, with a steel gold colored bezel
  • A 49mm black ceramic coated titanium shroud bolted to the inner casing
  • Polyurethane strap
This watch is from my own collection, and I bought it in person, brand new, from a bricks-and-mortar authorized dealer (“AD”) overseas nearly 15 years ago, and have never, ever worn it (it has not even been on a wrist).

The watch is a “full set” and comes with its outer and inner Seiko boxes, a filled-out Seiko certificate of guarantee (bearing the dealer’s signature and stamp) which goes inside the pocket of the booklet, the blue 7C46 instruction manual, the AD’s receipt / bill of sale and the AD's own guarantee, as well as the AD’s business card. The watch is on its original Seiko Z22 strap, and still has the original Seiko blue hard-plastic hang-tag, as well as the dealer’s white tag.

I’ve kept the watch in a safety deposit bank vault for all these years, and for the most part (except for a couple of years during the Pandemic, when I couldn’t access my box at the bank), the crown was unscrewed and pulled out, so the original battery survives to this day and looks to be in pretty good shape (but I can't tell you how many years are left on the battery).

There have been many threads on this elusive and extraordinarily-had-to-find watch, as well as articles on the Internet, so it will be worth your while Googling it. Just to get you started, you can read some of them here:

The Monocoque Seiko Tuna Models — A History And Overview

This is not a cheap watch, but think about it this way: only 50 made in this model almost 20 years ago, so how many come up for sale, and how difficult will it be to get a new, unworn one?

Price is $5,450 + FedEx overnight shipping (no trades please). I’m open to shipping overseas under certain circumstances, so let’s discuss. I just sold three different and brand-new Seiko Tunas from my collection on eBay and can share the public feedback with you and show you those listings. I’m also happy to do a live Zoom / FaceTime to show you the watch.

Alternatively (and as a public service announcement!) you can buy a used one like this on Chrono24 for “just” $3,597 (€2,990) and you can see that watch here:

I have taken 40 photos of the watch, and am providing 8 of them here. If you are 100% serious about buying this watch and want to see more photos, let me know.

Thanks!
