A new battery was installed and nothing...All mechanical functions work as they should, I put the watch on a demagnetizer and the hands spin...Do the coils go out on these ? I know new movements are cheap, But that's not the point

Check the coil with the multi meter on resistance (ohms) setting. There should be a kilo ohms reading

Similar Problem with my Zodiac Super Sea Dragon

The coil went bad. Watchmaker said they are very delicate. If they get a nick while attempting to change the battery or whatever else one might do to the movement, it could easily cut the copper wire and never work again. The part was about $80.00 US. With a cleaning, polishing and new spring bars I got it back for $150.00. She is working fine now.

I think I also see staining around the battery well that could be indicative of past leakage. Check that your circuit does not have corrosion on it.

I don't see any staining from battery leakage, The movement is very clean (crappy picture) I'll look into the coil advice.

Look closer . Right behind where the negative contact (is it even there?) comes out from the circuit- showing as bluish staining. Your insulator also shows signs of being eaten by corrosion.

I may be wrong, but if the hands spin with a de-magnetiser -wouldn't that indicate a good coil????. I think it would take a massive field strength to move the rotor.
You could try removing the coil and then re-test it.
What does it say on the movement? - the pic is a bit blurry.
It looks like a Ronda - here's a page from the datasheet.

Noah, You are Correct, I am disassembling the movement now and there is evidence of battery leakage...More to come

Thanks Noah, I agree, A new movement is in order for around $12.00 But the fun in correcting a non-runner is where it is at For me at this time anyway !!!!
