My girlfriend has her b'day coming soon...we decided together that I will buy her a watch :) ...

Currently we are torn between two Seiko's...it's either the SARB035 or the SBCM023....

She likes both sport and dress watches and she has really skinny wrists. Will these watches look too big on her wrist? Which wears smaller of the two? Also do you have any other suggestions for nice Seiko/Citizen/Orient watches around 37mm?

Thanks in advance comrades ;)

I can't comment on those two watches, but I sold this watch - the "Poor Man's Grand Seiko" - because I thought it was too small for my 7" wrist. It might, however, be perfect on someone with smaller wrists. And it's a beautiful watch.

the Sarb is more a dress style watch, auto etc., while the 023 is quartz and diver style with a +-20 secs/YEAR accuracy! and 8-10 year battery life :)) so depends on her particular design likes. Is she a grab and go type gal not wanting to 'fiddle' with resetting if she wears the watch occasionally? Then the diver midsize is really a good bet.

She does plan to wear it frequently but I still think that quartz might be wiser...knowing her...

I am leaning towards the diver more and more...does the SBCM023 wear smaller than the SKX031?

IMHO a woman would have to really WANT an auto/mechanical before I bought her one or recommended that she get one. My better half still continues to look at me with such confusion every morning as I do the hand jive to get it started and then set the time.

I know Citizen makes a bunch of mid size divers. Some are even JDM models. Here are a couple of US models I saw on bluedial.

Here a JDM

Thanks for the links brother :)

Actually she already has a JDM eco-drive diver I bought her like 3 years ago! She loves it.. ;) .

I think I'll go with the SBCM023!

My wife used to wear a SBCM023, she really liked it, in fact preferred it to the mid-size Omega Seamaster. The bracelet is very comfortable and the winder at 4 o'clock doesn't dig into the wrist. Easy to remove the bracelet as has drilled lugs if you prefer NATO strap or similar. Only thing not ideal is that the standard crystal is Hardlex not sapphire so can get scratched. Super-accurate movement, especially if worn daily.
Sold it as she now likes titanium watches instead.
Here's a pic..
