Wearing one of my favourite RACER J39027-70 BreitBling 'Panda-esque' clones this morning. :)
(Orient J3920 re-branded Seiko 7A38 movement inside, goes without saying).

This is the model that once featured on the cover of a RACER brochure:

Also included in the 'historical' section of the RACER Relojes website:
474309

Gotta chuckle at some of those claims, especially in the light of the J39027-70 being such an obvious rip-off of the 1980's Breitling Chronomat's design.

I have another NOS example fitted with the same Orient cardboard consistency tan mock croc strap,

but prefer it on red-stitched black leather. Not so easy to find in 19mm lug width. The one I'm wearing is fitted with a more modern appropriate-looking Tissot 'Racing' strap (p/n T600020323) from a PR-50.

I like your posts.
Good photos and you can learn something.
It should be like that, a watch and a few words, not just a photo (y)

I was contemplating my afternoon swap and was initially going to do the usual thing and plump for the 'Reverse Panda' version of the same J39 model. But then I remembered I'd already posted a wrist shot of it only a month ago, in this WRUW thread. So here's another variation on the BreitBling 7A38 clone theme - this time an ORIENT branded J39722-70. The family resemblance is obvious.

From what I've learned by studying Orient Watch Co. Ltd.'s model numbering system, a '7' after J39 signifies 'All Stainless Steel'. Indeed, that's how this one's case-back is stamped. Unlike its slightly blingier RACER J39027-70 sibling, the quarter markers and pusher buttons are polished stainless, rather than gold plated, but perversely it still has a gold crown and pusher cups. The heavily padded 19mm leather strap is a discontinued Meyhofer 'Lanark', same as I'd used on one of my RACERs.
