An unusual 6602-9981 Seiko Sportsman Calendar with “Alpinist” dial from Aug 1965. It’s got the best condition STP case I’ve ever seen (a low bar). All 3 hands w
original lume, including arrow second hand. The crown is correct and original to the watch (no SW or S crown on this model). A few months earlier (March 1965), these were 889980 and had SW crown (and were available in STP and EGP) while 6602-9981 had plain crown (and AFAIK, only in STP). I had difficulty finding an acceptable J130xx Champion 850 Alpinist so I bought this to scratch the itch. Brought this to watchsmith in the spring, then found an J13079 Alpinist in the summer, finally got this Sportsman “Alpinist” back yesterday. SMH
