Ok i'll bite.
From a tinkering point of view my favorite movement is the 70xx, Why? because they are basic and easy to work on, parts are easy to come by and not silly expensive. The 7s movements are much the same but imo seem to lack in quality.

Having said all that, i've just discovered the Orient 487. It appears to be a quality 7s but with the auto wind mech very akin to a seiko 6 series, and ive since discovered that some Seiko 7s parts are a direct fit.

I was able to replace the center wheel in an Orient with one from a 7005.
Favorite watch movement

My favorites have always been rugged reliable movements that are accurate as well. The Seiko 8L35 comes to mind. Also the Rolex 3135 is a solid performer.
6146-8000 probably the best hi beat movement seiko made till just recently.
I really like the 7A28/38, the first analog quartz chronograph movements and still the best in terms of function, quality and robustness.
Nothing over the past 31 years has come close.
Agree with Zencity I'm just servicing my Vulcan atm. Love working on these movements. ETA 2824's are also a joy to work on

Agreed one of my favourites.

The 7548 family, accurate, easy to maintain and plenty of spares.

The 6105/6309 for the same reasons as the 7548 :)
I love the 5606 because of the manual wind and hacking. One day I'll fit it into a 6309 divers case. Only downside is the day date quickset wheel. Can't have it all I guess. Close second is the 4006 & 6139 because even rough examples seem to run somehow!
I like the 7548 because it's reliable, accurate, fairly big and easy to work on.
Another thumbs up for the 7546/8. Simple, bullet-proof and accurate!
