The are a lot of vintage Seiko 5 watches but I would like to know what Seiko 5 models are considered as grail or rare?

Additional knowledge regarding this topic will be very helpful to everyone.

Hope gurus can share their knowledge to other members :D

Never came across an expensive Seiko 5 so far. Grails are personal so to each their own. Not sure what model might be rare but I'm assuming there might be a few out there...

1969 Seiko 6139-6000 Sportstimer.

Generally Seiko '5' branded watches are low range mass market, not especially desirable in their own right. The Sportstimer above is probably the most notable collectible '5'.

In my opinion only the 6138 and 6139 speed timer 5's could head toward grail status.

Generally speaking all the Seiko 5 Sports models are a step up from the regular Seiko 5's.

The Seiko 5 sports Rally divers are quite desirable as well. But by far not as desirable as the sports timer.

So generally speaking, the '5's are some of the least collectible Seiko's. 'Sorry about that.

i agree with koekoek, rally divers and sportstimers are desirable and valuable (vis-a-vis other 5s)

Military issue 6119-810X sell for strong money, justifiably so I'd say.
