Several years ago there were many forum frequenters that were proactively watermarking posted images.

Scammers were using images for auctions and other purposes. Others were “borrowing” for benign reasons without giving credit.

It seems that very few, if any, bother to watermark watch images anymore. I guess it is time consuming for one.

What gives?

I think you pinpointed the reason. But given the rise in stealing photos for scam sales (eg, another thread today), sounds like that effort might be worthwhile…

Yeah, recent discussion here got me thinking about this.

With the rise of camera quality in smart phones, very few are bothering with DSLR watch photos anymore and associated watermarking workflows.

Anyone have a smartphone watermarking app they use?
