I think "Senior Member" means someone who starts out by listening, learning, paying attention to the current "Senior Members", and when they have come off of the bench after being a redshirt freshmen they are ready to share and contribute useful and constructive posts to discussions and help out those who do not know the answer.

Senior member is not some automatic designation you get because some forum software says you are by post count fluffing.

I have been around since 2002 since the good old days of Network 54 and think I have earned my newb or can't tell time or whatever the software wants to deem me as and have seen many "Senior Members" and experts leave because of nonsense and irrelevant dribble being posted over the years.

Very well spoken , Sir

You are a Man of much insight and knowledge and information given also
as many come through the Forum. You have contributed much and I for one have found that these words you have spoken have told a lot of truth.
Its the true and honest individual that has made the Forum continue to
grow and proceed into what it is today. Many have come to learn and get
much results from being on here and I would say carried it out into the everyday also in their life time. Knowledge is free if one wants it, but having others give out, then take it in, now that's a .............
" True Profitable Benefit ".
Like the good book says: Let the one that has the ear's to hear
what is being said, let them hear and do it.

Thank you Sir for being who you are and what you have given to us in many ways, and all that you have said as being a Veteran Member of such a great Forum like this one.
Aloha

CD,

Funny thing as I was able to find old postings of mine on the old site dating back to 2002 as well. Oh, the good old days. Best to you and others.

John this second post above could be seen as "fluffing", you posted this 2 mins after your original post, why dident you just add it to the original post ? I believe I mentioned edit to you a while ago ?

A high post count dosent mean diddly as some of the most knowledgeable guys on the forum often have a very low post count.

We have a saying over here "Those that talk about sex all the while don't participate in sex", I talk about it all the while :(

He thats a point for old Guy's too

Tiger , at least many still remember a lot about it, that's where the conversation gets good.
When spoken off, it starts a ZING way down there and the old Memory
Chip gets some power back.
Its the ZING that start's chip that starts it all over again and now the motion
has to be started up to .......... " Go Get It Done again ".

But when one reaches there one hears this all over again............
" Man I sure got a Big Headache " and " I really don't fell Like It " and " What For ".

The chip goes back now into the holder until the next ZING comes back.
Before its noticed again ....... " Ten Years Have Gone By ".
So the discussion's keep going on and more ..........." ZING'S " come up

Note:
A Beautiful Gorgeous Women once said ........... " What's Love Got to Do With It ".

John you have done neither to me, I pointed out what could be considered fluffing out your posts as per CDG.

Now that you have edited the title of the post and deleted a reply you made it will make it hard for members to understand what has been said.

As George said "who cares" ?

I wouldn't worry jringo about being labled a senior member. We have only been on this forum for 6 months or so. The fact that you have given more help to others than a lot of long term members ever have or will should speak volumes about you as a person and a valuable member of this community. I thought the offer you made to help folk out with this horrible Global Shipping Program that eBay run from the American website was totally selfless and some thing that the SCWF should be proud and grateful that a 'short term' member has offered out of the goodness of their heart. It just shows what a great community this is on the whole. I have been a professional clock guy for over 10 years now and if I had received the help you have offered in my line of work, my life as a clock restorer would have been a lot easier I can tell you. Most professional watch and clock guys are arseholes! They look down their noses at you, thinking they are better than you and they 'never' offer help or advice to anybody. I have found this is far from the truth with this forum and some of the best work I have ever seen has come from amateurs on here! The SCWF should be happy you are a willing member. This is a great forum and a fantastic bunch of guys, and girls no doubt although I am yet to meet a girlie on here, and in my humble opinion it should embrace guys like you who are willing to put themselves out in the name of the SCWF community.

Me I'm a useless git who is opinionated and often wrong but to date I have only seen good help, info and a happy nature from you and I applaud you and thank you most sincerely. Who cares how many times you reply when your being helpful! I sure don't! and I hope more of us can take a leaf out of your book and offer our help and time so willingly.
