I have recently bought my first mechanical watch and have found myself wondering how it all works. I am looking for a recommendation of a book which would give me the basics to buy an old broken watch to see the workings and hopefully get it working. A seiko citizen book would do fine as my watch is a seiko but if there is a general book that would be best

Thanks

7S26b Thanks for the info! OP I purchased beginner watchmaking and a lot of useful info there too! Especially since I want to be able to repair and mod my seikos!

I picked up Watch Repairing as a Hobby (D.W.Fletcher) and I am awaiting delivery of Clock & Watch Repairing (Donald de Carle) second hand from Abes Books, cheap as chips!
And Practical Watch Repairing (Donald de Carle) from The Book Depository (UK) for about $18 US Posted.
