I believe that these were from the late 90's, so your example would be from 1998. The dates for the battery replacement markings on the back give a good indication.

I have the same model from 1994 (7N36-7A09).

I do not believe that there was ever a JDM release of these and they were export only models.

I would say it was a great trade for a $50 Invicta.

They were not released domestically in Japan but were only exported to other countries.

I believe that these models were released in the US, European and Asian markets.
