I'd like to resuscitate this theme. A few years ago I started something I liked to call "Vintage Thursdays". Here's how you play. Thursdays are reserved for the moldy oldies in your collection. I like to see these pieces see the light of day. Here's my contribution for this Thursday.

'68 Bulova Oceanographer Snorkel 666!

aka. "The Devil Diver"!

So dust 'em off and let's see 'em, guys!

Cheers!

Mike, if you keep posting pictures of that watch, I'm going to have to jump you in some dark alley and take it from you. ;D

Me I'm wearing a just received 6106 sport divers that took me 5 years to land. I have no pics of it yet, but will post some up this weekend.

That is lovely! Do people ever comment on your deco watches?
Hi Simon, sorry for butting in. People comment on mine, namely, "Why are you wearing a ladies' watch?" I once kept a 1941 Wittnauer ladies handwind in my pants pocket (the watch was about as small as the nail on your little finger) so I could show anyone who asked, "This is not a lady's watch, now THIS is a ladies' watch!"

Here are some of the "ladies" watches I wear: (by the way the modern Casio is shown for size comparison)

I don't wear watches unless i'm at school and being on prac for the last two weeks it's been nothing but 6309's, 6105, the Arnie.. an old Lorus lumibrite in a 200m case i threw together.. haven't worn the Pogue yet might bust that one out next week.. oh and the 7548 TST.. have to give that one a run for a day or two as well.

Nice trick, and easier to pull off with a small watch than at the other end of the scale. You know, you're wearing a modern biggie (I don't,btw) and someone says " Thats a big watch" so you pull a grandfather clock out of your pocket..

This is a really nice piece in the collection. I found it in 2004 when I moved to Japan and it was only $80. The wife offered to buy if for me. Midsized, this 1974 LM model has the 5216, faceted crystal and two toned. I have the original bracelet stored away.

i love the 5216 family. i think of it as a trouble-free 56xx.
