Hamilton was the first to make the electric watch with a standard mechanical mvmt but an electric motor in place of a mainspring. They weren't good watches. In the 60s a bunch of outfits started making them much improved. I used to have a Timex Electric like that.
Then Quartz came out and that was the end of the electrics. Also the Accutrons came out in the 60s and gave the electrics a run for the money.
