This one just arrived, scratched crystal & crappy bracelet but otherwise in good shape. The only problem is that I've discovered it's a birth year watch for my brother who's turning 40. And he's looking for a vintage chrono. So I guess I'll have to part with this one shortly .... :051bye:
This guy. New purchase off the auction but not Japanese . . .
Branded as Lucien Piccard, from the 70s~80s (my guess) it has a 25J Lanco movement, adjusted in 6 (!) positions.
Beyond the excellent movement, the most interesting thing about the watch is the sintered tungsten case that is in remarkable condition -- i.e., not dented, dinged, scratched, etc., after all these years. Just as damage resistant as advertised.
If anyone knows more about these watches (also available branded as Lanco) I'd be very interested for more information.
