I present the Master Record of Citizen , a watch little known and very rare that I was fascinated by its beauty . First, it took two years of research , comes from Bulgaria and is the first that I find in very good condition and all original .
The history of this timepiece is simple , Citizen has often been overshadowed by Seiko and sometimes was towed . As in this case , Seiko in 1964 had brought out for the Olympics and Asian Games its wonderful cronostop , a mono-pusher chronograph manual winding , Citizen needs some years to come out with its product, in 1967. But the wait was rewarded by a fantastic watch. Definitely like Seiko . Aesthetically, the classic line in a 36mm case , rather thin , makes a fine blend of sportiness and elegance , it is mechanically superior to Seiko because it presents the flyback function , which in a cronostop is definitely something useful and interesting .
Nice and classical dial with tachymeter scale in areas outside , the second hand can be gray or orange . There is also an even more rare variant with white dial .
Product until the early 70s , must give way to the emerging automatic .
For me in this reference everything went perfectly , line , measures , dimensions , color , harmony , balance , technique . Nothing to be sent to the Swiss , nothing .
Reference 63-0110 , year of production in 1971 .

Some photos and details.

Buttons Are Not Equal in the time trial , That of the flyback ( 4 hours ) and More robust Act to absorb the " barrel" of the flyback drive fast , interesting.

The crown is logoed , notice the case for a very flat time trial .

Nice the case back , with excellent written test .

Finally the movement , a gem and well finished , certainly lives up to rival the Japanese Seiko . Even in this perspective we see the button on the flyback more squat and sturdy.

Very nice Itau - interestingly these handwinding Record Masters were relatively not that expensive when they were first made, less than half the price of the cheapest high beat Leopard auto for example. But not these days!

I have the Rally Custom version:

Beautiful watch. I'm very impressed by the quality of Citizen watches in the early 1970's .
I have a very nice Cosmotron from 1971 that my photographs do not do justice to

Sweet, I used to have one like that. It was my only RecordMaster. Like the Citizen divers, as much as I liked them, it was just too hard to find good examples, information, parts, etc.

Beautiful watch Itau -- classic, simple, elegant. Nice photos too -- but you forgot the obligatory wrist shot! :)

Here's my Rally Custom - since the picture was taken I've been so unfortunate to chip the glass (not sure if it is the original).
If someone knows how to get hold of a replacement crystal - please let me know.

Thanks for the nice write up Itau.

Here is my Rally Custom, as you can see I am also looking for a replacement crystal.

I see that your Rally Custom example seems to have the same strap that is on mine.

This is an 18mm Tropic rally strap with a stainless steel Citizen buckle.

I believe that this strap may be original to the watch but I have not seen definitive proof on this.

Does anyone know the original strap for this model?

I picked up a nice Record master a few years ago. I always think of them as a one button chrono but with two buttons!
