I was looking a pnut's very handsome mods and it occurred to me that the writing on the aftermarket dials is a bit superfluous. This thought has crossed my mind more than once as I've done my own mods.

Does anyone else think perfectly plain dials might be better in some instances?

I like the word "automatic", and the "200" but I don't care for the word "sub". I would prefer something like "200m". That's just me though.

Depends on the watch, I guess. "Sub" on a not-diver watch is silly, as is "200 m" on a dress watch. It sure would be nice to have more options on the writings.

It depends on the watch, but I generally agree. When modding, I tend to prefer letting the design speak for itself instead of relying on "surface excitement". That said, the occasional distinctive piece of artwork can do a lot for a mod dial and the final watch.
