I'm sure this has been kicked around a lot, but I just recently realized my strong preference for solar quartz above all else.

So my question is, which do you prefer, and why?

Or perhaps you just don't care for quartz at all?

Isn't Spring Drive missing from the list of quartz watches?

Without going too much into it, I do not consider the SD as a quartz movement, thus it's not on my list.

The response to the thread has been about what I expected. Lots of votes for solar (namely Eco-Drive), quite a few for traditional battery, and some kinetics peppered in.

I think I can say with certainty that I'm in the solar camp now. Eco-Drives are so much easier to keep charged off the wrist, so in that regard they are superior to kinetics.

From a collector's point of view, however, it seems like nothing is as good as the good ol' traditional battery-powered quartz.
