While I have not been active here for a while and not "tinkering" with watches due to some hand surgery issues, I wanted to put in one of the last Frankens I did.
Had a 309 case complete with a large hole that used to be the crown base...I drilled it out cleanly, inserted an off-market triplock crown and secured it in place with good old JB Weld epoxy...printed a simple paper dial and dropped in a decent working 6309 movement but had to get creative joining the Seiko stem to the differently threaded Triplock crown...filed the stem to a point and sort of powered its way onto the female crown threads then secured with Superglue...all is good and this is the go-to watch for heavy duty construction work or doing things I would never wear any other watches while doing...I did this about 12 years back and the watch has never leaked or skipped a beat...!
