Thought I'd post some photos taken on the opening night in Cape Town of the game between France and Urugay - for members interested in the beautiful game!

The 1st photo is of my long-suffering better-half at the V&A Waterfront about 90 minutes before the game, the 2nd is of the city with Table Mountain in the background, the 3rd is of the new Greenpoint stadium just before entering, the 4th & 5th are inside while the game was in progress, and the last photo is the custom 6309-7040 I was wearing.

All pictures, except the last, was taken with my Cellphone, so the quality is a bit "iffy", but it will give you an idea. Bit of a "dead" game (0-0 draw), but the electrifying atmosphere more than made up for it...

I bet the atmophere there was fantastic.....buzzing.....literally,with those annoying trumpet things,lol. Hoping England will start playing as a team real soon or we are out. Great pics Alvin,thanks for sharing.

Trumpetera my friend! Thanks, I wish you could have been there, you would probably have felt right at home in a t-shirt that evening! For us, 5 degrees celcius is cold!!!

Snootydog, they're called "vuvuzelas" and you're right, they are bloody annoying! Still, great to host the world in our part of the globe, the fan-fests are an all-day, every-day party! Lots of goodwill being generated. Wish some of our watch-friends were able to join!
