So you often see the statement that a watch is all original and unpolished but what exactly does this mean to everybody. For example, does a clean up with a cape cod cloth count as polished, or how about a once over with a hard felt pad on a dremel. Does it simply mean that the case lines are as they were originally?

Just curious..

UNpolished means just that, NEVER polished. in the realm of another watch brand that i am a fan of, an unpolished watch is worth more, at times significantly more, than one that has seen the polishing wheel, cap cod cloth or spit shine!

It means that the original finish has never been touched up in any way. It does not mean that the original finish does not have dings or scratches, unless it specifically says otherwise.
