Hello folks,

1955 was an important year in my family, and I have always been on the lookout for a nice watch from that year. Unfortunately everything was way too rough for me, or a Swiss "heirloom" that was way too expensive. :frown:

Say, is that an EMS bag from Japan?

And what a tidy little package is inside! I know who this is from!

Go ahead and read the label, I don't think it will do you any good this time!! :p

The familiar sight of a plastic organizer, inside the brown paper envelope.

And what appears to be a watch, wrapped in bubble-wrap inside the organizer.

Yup, I was right, it is a watch!

It is a 1955 Seiko Super, model 13009, with a "U" movement, a 17 jewel 18,000 bph handwind movement.

Here is a closer look.

It is respectable condition, especially for a 60 year-old watch, and it is my favorite brand! :yahoo:

Nobody wanted it very badly, so I was able to add it to my menagerie for US$100 even!

Not the largest watch at 32 mm across without the crown, but I don't mind.

Here is the crown side.

And the "subject" or "common" side.

And the nice case-back.

It has 16mm lugs, but came with a slightly small cowrocodile strap. ;)

But it looks good on the watch, so I wound it up, found a 14mm gold deployant in the strap bag, and started wearing it.

I think it looks good on me! And I have worn it all day today (Saturday) and it's keeping good time!

I can only wish I will be in as good condition when I am sixty years old!!

Thanks for looking!
