This one is installed in a Matsushita 6 - transistor radio from the early 1960s. The alarm is set (no real "alarm" - the radio turns on) by turning the bezel.

Not exactly - this one is "real" Seiko. Uses a 66B hand wind movement, "dumbed down" a little by reducing the jewel count from 17 to 7. I presume a cost saving measure .
I have owned and worked on many "alarm watch" radios including Sony , Panasonic and Bulova (if you spot a Sony radio with a "TRW" prefix, the "W" stands for watch). Many have Seiko movements, some had Citizen movements. There are also Bulova branded radios with Citizen and (Japanese made) Bulova movements.
Cheers! Hamish.
