Whenever one of you posts a WRUW thread Monday thru Friday, you can probably assume that I'm wearing this watch. This Seiko has been my go-to work watch since I got it a few years ago, and it's a great one.
This is a discontinued model, but you can still find them online. Department stores were asking $425 for this watch when it was current, and you can find them online now for about $150.00
The SNA611 houses a built-in-Japan quartz chronograph movement in a slim and well-built stainless steel case. The diameter is 38mm including crown, and at only 8mm thick, it fits easily under any shirtcuff. It's thin but it has a nice weight to it and doesn't feel cheap. The watch is water resistant to 50m.
The bracelet is fully integrated, so no nato strap for this one (ha ha). It uses a hidden clasp. The bracelet looks good, hides scratches, and is the most comfortable I've used.
The chronograph can meausure up to one hour in 1/5 second increments, which means the chrono seconds hand sweeps just like a mechanical chrono. It's pretty flipping sweet.
The bottom dial at the 6 o'clock position is for the alarm, which I've never used, and doubles as a second timezone. The alarm is charming, but wimpy.
There are sophisticated touches all over this watch, including the fluting around the edges, the subtle wave pattern on the silver/white dial, the dark blue hands, and the cabochon crown.
Oh, and did I mention the crystal is sapphire?
My wife considers this the prettiest watch I've owned. I think it looks pretty darn good, too, and if you're looking for a good basic dress watch with some extra nice features at an extra nice price, then take a look at this one.
