Hello everyone

I've a friend who has purchased a Seiko Pogue.
It's paid for it, but awaiting delivery.

We're concerned if its genuine or fake.

Any comments?
Look forward to your reply. :)

I believe the dial to be a fake. Hash marks don't extend all the way to the sub dial and no space between JAPAN6139.
First glance opinion. Others, more knowledgeable will chime in and elaborate.
Not sure about the inner rotating ring.

Dial, chapterring and Bezelinsert is AM, hour hand is wrong, minute probably than too. Looks like pushers aren‘t original too, but this can be due to the pic. Anyhow, I would not keep this piece. Why is it that everyone asks after buying and not before?

I know Phil !
He should have asked me before committing to purchase it.
I would have given him the feedback first.
Thanks for your reply.

Thanks Rob.
Do you have a picture of a genuine one to post here for comparison?

The last picture you have posted is of a different watch than the previous pictures. assuming your question is about the previous pictures?

Perhaps he is buying two Mike ? :) if so the second one looks the better bet out of the two but.........
My friend told me the seller had pictures of two side by side.
He must have sent me one picture that was not the same as the others.
So 10/10 for observation Mike...(y)

You're 100% correct Mike.
I was just sent the pics and uploaded them and didn't pay close attention.

Here you go. Space between Japan and 6139 and hashmarks "creeping" into the sub- dial. ( actually my WRUW today)

Thanks Rob - The hash marks don't extend into the sub-dial on his.
So I guess you're saying that's one of the things to look out for on a fake one.

My eye always travels to the hashmarks/dial code/ automatic text first. Then everything else, if one thing doesn't jive with the age of the watch (proof/resist/ no text) then I question everything.
