New to the site so if I've posted incorrectly please let me know. My Dad received this watch as a high school graduation gift in 1964. It's 17 jewels, automatic and has a blue face. I've been told that the prism is very unique. I have not been able to locate this particular watch online anywhere. I am interested if anyone knows the exact year of production, the name (no helpful markings that I could find) and the approximate worth. Thanks for your help!

All the relevant markings are in the back, on the case...8 digit movement-case # as well as the 6 digit serial , which will tell you the year and month of production.
Then you just google Seiko DX and the movement - case#

Rob

It's a 6106 movement btw.

Welcome.

Nice watch, but it cannot be from 1964 as the DX line wasn't introduced until later in the 60's (if it is a 6106 the earliest would be 1967). As Rob says, the case back info will determine it's production date.
