I changed the battery for my Seiko "baby Arnie" caliber H556. Everything seems to work except for the alarm. Do you have to ground something during the battery change in order for the alarm to work? I just pulled the old battery out and put in a new one and that's all I did.

THANKS!!!

I'm assuming the alarm works on a Regular Arnie as it does on the Baby Arnie....... I just changed batteries on mine and the alarm works fine...... have you checked to make sure it's actually activated? Look and see if the alarm signal is flashing on and off. If not..... then I would say you dont have it activated!

Are you sure you haven't lost the alarm contact spring???, it's worth looking in in the tech pdf to find it's location, between the battery and coil I think. It's easily misplaced. Can't find a 556 pic -but here's a 557 - http://www.mechanikus.hu/gifs/c_SeiH557A.jpg it's the gold spring between the battery and coil block.
