Hello,

I recently purchased a Seiko 7001-8009 in small lot of watches. I've looked for info about the 7001 movement online but there really isn't much info that I've come across.

Case back says water resist, so I assume the date is March of '70, not March of '80. Also says "Japan M"

If anybody knows anything about these watches, I'd love to hear it.

I'm a new member, so I don't think I can post a picture yet.

One of the 70xx series movements which i think dates from the 70's rather than the 80's.
Im not sure if its a no calendar complication version of the 7005/7006, or an auto version of the 7000.
Ive noticed while researching the 70xx movements, all the pics of the 7001's, (or least the ones ive come across) on google appear to have serial numbers starting with 0 or 1, so im thinking that perhaps they were only produced for a couple of years. Also there only seems to be 2 case references for the 7001, thats 8009 and 7009, so it appears to be a bit of a rarity.

Hurry up and get to 5 posts and post pics please, id love to see a pic of dial, case back and if possible the movement.
