Everyone loves and appreciates the 811X, but I have noticed a trend. In recent months, the 800X seems to be climbing steadily higher. These were produced in far fewer numbers than the 811X, and good examples seem to be fetching a premium on par with nice 811X examples. Has anyone else noticed this?

Even though the 800X is more rare than the 811X as long as I have been collecting the 811X has always commanded a sizable premium and I suspect it will most likely stay that way. As far as I can tell the 811X and 800X prices have been increasing at about the same pace. I did see the guy on ebay trying to sell a 800X for $5,000 and in the listing states "price is not negotiable"

Yeah...good luck with that ;)

I think 62mas and 6105 diver prices have peaked. It's difficult to be sure though, the majority turning up on eBay are very average examples. I don't see much real movement over the past year or so. Asking prices are always increasing, but auction sales prices look to be stable and even falling a little.

every Seiko "collector" wants a 62MAS, 6105 and a 6309 in their collection.......so good examples will always be sought after......... and once they have a 6309......they look for a 6306

Then there are several variants of 62mas, - smal crown, big crown, Dolphin caseback, horseshoe caseback, Daini Seikosha.... and 6105-8000 Proof, -8009 Resist, 6105-8110 Proof and Resist, And then a 6159, and then of course a 6215. It's always about what's next. :eek:hmy:

How are you doing with that. Some of those can be elusive too...
Especially this one:

Oooops.. 'Sorry didn't mean to hijack the thread. :(
I think that there are 13 different models - I've a long, long way to go - I only have 3 so far........but I don't want to go mad price-wise

I remember the very day on this here forum when someone had the audacity to ask 1000 US dollars for a 6105! Gasp...

(Apologies for continuing the drift in this thread)

That table is a great reference Tiger.

Just wanted to confirm the dial code for the 701A.

The couple I've seen have 7548-707L T

Thanks, the 701A is the only model I have never owned so could the "X" reference in my chart be wrong as all the other dial codes finish with a "T", I will modify the chart when I get a chance.
