I would like to ask the experts and other Seiko collectors.

I would like to confirm if both Seiko models use the same crystal size?

Also, does anyone know the original crystal part code?

I'll appreciate any information regarding this question :D

Well.. You have three types of crystal. Possibly four. Mario is spot on with the part number I should say.

It depends on what profile you are after. It then depends on the year of the watch.

For instance anything post 1972 would more than likely have had a type 2 crystal. After that from about 74 or 5 it was a type 3. Anything 6105 from 68 to 72 would have had a type 1 until Seiko had loads getting replaced due them being chipped etc. Which is why the type 2 was made.

There are many superb threads out there and a blog by MartinCRC about them.

Thank Guy!

East tech type 1 fitted on this July '71 production which had a type II initially when I bought it.

Type II that was on it, just a few scuffs. I might go back to that.

I initially thought this other one I have (June '74) had a type III but according to the info Guy provided a type III is supposed to be slightly domed on top. This one is flat, so don't what it is, obviously a wrong replacement
