my thinking too
my first memories of watches in a jewelry stores are digital watches
you got yourself a beauty
can i ask how large it is?
i love digitals but as a large guy most look out of place on my wrist
this one seems a bit larger
God Bless,John
It's also the thickness that makes it more substantial. Thicker than later lcd models.

There's beauty in simplicity too .I'd say Seiko beat Apple to the invention of the "digital crown" 40+ years ago.

Super example of a super watch, but Citizen's first LCD had a digital crown well before this Seiko.I'd say Seiko beat Apple to the invention of the "digital crown" 40+ years ago.

Thanks Gerald! - good bit of data. Either way Apple got beat with the concept decades prior. Maybe something along these lines?Super example of a super watch, but Citizen's first LCD had a digital crown well before this Seiko.
I believe Seiko's first watch with a digital crown (and no buttons) was the 0114-0010, which was first featured in 1975's volume 1 catalogue (actually the first of the Seiko catalogues to feature any digital watch). I'm unsure whether the 0114 or the Citizen was released first.
Kind regards,
Gerald.
