Hey all, just curious if anyone has seen one of these 6309's before. Just picked it up as an eBay project. I've gone poring through the catalogs and can't find anything like it. Serial number is 604735 (assuming the caseback is original); I've looked in all of the catalogs in 1975-77 and 1985-87 and came up with nothing (I'm guessing this was 80's just by the look). And I haven't been able to find anything similar on eBay.

It looks like a franken, the pic isn’t too clear but the dial doesn’t look right either. It is not a 6309-8840 case.

Possibly... In searching 6309-8840, some weird things come up. Yes, lots of watches with the traditional 6309 case, but also some other hexagonal watches like this: VINTAGE SEIKO 5 6309-8840 A6 AUTOMATIC JAPAN 17 J MEN'S WATCH (0104) | eBay. That one's about as close as I've come to finding something in the right ballpark.
That’s not a 8840 case either, it’s another franken. This is a 6309-8840, if the case and dial are not the same design it is incorrect, a franken, or even an outright fake.

Thanks for your help! Looks like maybe I've got something made with that 6100 case and a random dial and caseback. I bought it for 25 bucks just as a hobby project. No clue what movement is even inside, I assumed in my ignorance it is a 6309 but I guess could be anything. Ill see when I receive it!
