I'd like to know if anyone has used sapphire crystals from either outletgoods or crystaltimes on eBay. Considering them for my 7548.
I know everyone will point me towards dagaz and yobokies but I am wanting to use some eBay credit owing to me.

He has a TST pic in his item description.
Means he may be from SCWF.
I've used outletgoods with no problems whatsoever. Crystals have fit, they are helpful and all 5 odd crystals I've ordered have arrived. On other threads crystaltimes has had positive mention, I think TheTigerUK aka John may have more info on them.

(P.S This is in no way an endorsement of any kind) :)
Have just used outletgoods for a 7002 7000 sapphire with AR. Took 7 days from USA to UK. Perfect fit. Would recommend.
Why not just get a mineral glass from mountapo_merchant (sp)?
They fit well, are cheap and postage is cheap.

Sapphire glasses aren't all they're cracked up to (pun inserted on purpose:grin:)
I have brought 5 sapphire crystals from Crystaltimes 4 of them I installed in 7548s and one in a 7C43. Outstanding product! Perfect fit! I just ordered 2 more.
Can somebody please post a link to crystaltimes on the bay. Try as I might, I can't search them up on eBay or google. I'm interested to see what they've got to offer.
Just took the plunge and bought a set 6105 and 6309
Sapphire glasses aren't worth the price premium over mineral glasses:undecided:

Go ahead and scratch each one - there isn't a great difference and its not like they're better to see through.

Are aftermarket sapphires not as good as original?
I have a tissot with a plain sapphire and victorinox with an ar sapphire and especially the tissot, it's been worn to death, bezel is scratched but glass is 98% victorinox has been worn with much more care and is 100%.
The other reason I got the sapphires is I couldn't find a plain glass for 6105 for any less. I got both the sapphires for about the same price as 2 glass crystals from sellers apart from mountapo.
Guess this will be an experiment to see what there like as both of these watches will be keepers.

If normally agree with you Dr, I've been very impressed with the hardiness of most glass replacements, I have one on my 6309.
I've had one from crystaltimes and it was correct size and fit. I wanted one without AR. Nothing not to like so far...
I got my sapphire from crystal times and have been very impressed. The lines, beveled edge and clarity is awesome!
Considering this is a keeper, I'm glad I made the purchase.
Thanks all for your advice.
I guess all new crystals make a watch look a million $ will just have to see how it lasts.

On a hardness scale - if a standard mineral crystal is 100, sapphire is 400.
Obviously a very significant difference - especially if you're hard on your watch crystals.
I believe sapphire crystals allow you to "enjoy" your watch without the worry of jacking it up and having to take it off everytime you get into a situation where you might scratch it.

Whenever I have the opportunity to upgrade I always go with a sapphire crystal.

However sapphire crystals are not bulletproof and my Omega Dynamic has a scratch or 2 in it from t he previous owner. I have never shattered a mineral or sapphire crystal.

The good news. The crystal fits and looks great.
My watch stopped. It runs then stops. I had it serviced 6 months ago so I will take it back and see what's up. It was being a little unpredictable with power reserve and random stops. So will hopefully get it going again without to much $$

The glass looks great - just as good as a mineral glass:grin:
I overhauled a 6105 for a customer last year. It was going great and now stops on the date change :undecided:
Watch out for the British vendor though!!!

.

But whatever you do, watch out for the British curmuggeon that sometimes sells sapphire crystals on the sales forum!! :eek:hmy:

He is like some old retired bloke that has nothing better to do than to spin us about his super high-quality sapphire crystals that fit better than all the others.

He is like a tiger in the night! ;) Next thing you know, you have twice as many crystals as you have watches, and he is flying down the A4 in his luxury Cortina with all your money!!! Birds in the back, cognac in the console!
