Dear All,

I was wondering if someone could point out or post some of the coolest analog GShocks. I honestly think that with an ana and a digi GS, I could make it through my whole life and always be on time ;D

don't forget to mention what your personal favourite ana GShock is.

hard to go past the pilots?

Thanks in advance.

I only own 1 g-shock and it's an ana-digi gw2500b-1. I prefer it over the gw3000 for 3 main reasons: dial is more legible (IMO), it has an LED lighting system, and it has a 60 min CDT vs 24 min for the gw3000. You can also show 3 time zones at once if you wish! Plus I just prefer the looks of it compared to the 3000. Some people worry about the hands blocking the digital windows for stopwatch, CDT, etc., but I've never had a problem with this (if you're obsessed with using the chrono functions all the time then I'd suggest staying with an all digital g-shock). A slight tilt of the wrist allows you to see the digital portion quite well if the hands are in the way. This is one of the few watches I own that will probably never end up on the chopping block.

The minute hand moves every 10 seconds and there is a simple hand home position correction process if anything causes the hands to be slightly out of sync (never happened to me so far). I like Casio's tough movement (I have it on my PAW5000) but since the gw2500 timekeeping 'anchor' is digital, it is not really needed on this watch.

The bezel is a nice gunmetal color though in my pic it looks more black (I take crappy pictures, sorry bout that)

I think these GW2500 are also pretty cool.

There are several other options, mostly ana-dig, but these are the ones that jump out at me that I have seen the most popularity on the forums. Check here for more info.

I forgot to mention that my favorite ana G Shock is the Citizen Skyhawk AT I just got. Syncs way better than any Casio I had and for the price I paid, the Citizen is just in a different league. When the Casios start breaking $300, there are just better options out there IMHO.

Thanks guys,

that 2500 is pretty sweet. I am thinking very seriously about the similar G300-3AV to go with my skx007. One dress, one tool :) . I'm on a budget you see.

Personally I hope casio put out more pure ana/digi units. I like the skyhawk and nighthawk in particular. Don't get me wrong. But the price of them puts them out of the 'rolling in mud' category for me.

Shade I hope you enjoy your shock. It's the best way to distinguish yourself from the investment banker types.

IMHO ana-dig is the way to go if you plan on using the extra functions a lot. That 2500 is a nice model.
