I have the SKX007 which is the same as the 171 except for the scalloped bezel.
I'd say build quality is similar in both. Monster may seem superior only because it is heavier. Monster has more cuts and angles while the 171/007 has more gentle curves.
Monster has better lume but the 007/171 isn't shabby.
I would think the Monster has better bezel action, but again the 007/171 isn't shabby. I'd give the 171 the edge over the 007 because of the more intricate bezel.
They use the same movements so the day colors will be the same. EDIT: I FAIL.
