The SQ dials were on the model that was marketed in the US while the Resist dial shows up on the Japanese market model. That doesn't mean that the SQ and Resist dials were only marketed to those two countries though.

I think the Resist dial version is a bit more desired by some because it has the Kanji day wheel as it was for the Japanese market. Also, in the US or from US sellers it seems to be easier to find a watch with the SQ dial (given it was the US model), so it might take you a while longer to find a Resist dial unless you're working with overseas sellers. But I don't notice a big price difference between the two dial models so I don't think those are major factors affecting desirability.
