I thought of our conversation when someone first recommended changing the movement. I am going to try myself. I’ve removed and replaced hands on pocket watches before so I’ll give this a try.
Someone suggested using the NH36 movement instead. Doesn’t that hurt the value of the SKX if I sell it down the road?
Of course it does hurt, watches as modded as cars and motorbikes are harder to sell and mostly have a lower price than the originals.
A few more posts and colleagues will propose it instead of the watch mechanism because it is cheaper:p:p

Here in my country servicing a 7s26 costs around 30 euros, so first option would be a service of the movement, buying a new one is the next and more expensive option
But then again the op is not in Greece so ...

I used to get cheap SNK's when they were $50 just for a movement. Just like a dress 6309 to put in a diver or a dress 7546 to put into a 7548. If you're comfortable transplanting the dial and hands, thats the way to go.
