[Get KoSei]

The collecting bug has bitten, and I want the brothers of my SKX005. The white-dialled SKX006 is my first target. I also need to learn how to do the basics of disassembly, so I think a project watch could be good. There's one with no chapter ring I could buy.
Speedtimerkollektion, WatchPartsPlaza, and Cousins don't have the chapter ring I would need. The SKX006 seeming to be the lowest-selling version of the three dial colours, and the time they were in production having been short, I think I might have trouble tracking one down.
I know there are at least a couple of forumers who own and like the 7S26-0010 midsize divers. I'm hoping that they might be kind enough to pass on their experience, but I'd appreciate anyone sharing what they know. Is there anywhere else to try (preferably for used parts)?

PS: I know that I could post a WTB even before I've racked up 50 posts. If I end up owning the watch I'll likely do that.

As you might know the exact chapter ring part number for the SKX006 is 84312317.

No longer available from Seiko. This will be a tough one to hunt down.

Maybe can you repaint the one you have now?

Thanks for the part number, which I actually didn't know. I'd only found 84312318 as the black chapter ring part number.

Seems I might need to repaint one, but I haven't got a spare at all of any colour. My SKX005 has its dark blue one, but it's unwilling to give it up . BTW, if you happen to know or can easily find the reference for it, could you tell me the part number for the dark blue chapter ring? Obviously the first seven digits should be 8431231.

Maybe someone has their eye on one of Ramon's current bundles with 0010 divers and is going to sell off the truly hopeless watches part by part. I can hope!

Crystal Times has plain black and silver chapter rings for the smaller SKX models (NOTE: I know nothing of their reputation or the quality of their work - just passing along that I saw the parts). It wouldn't be the original part, but could work if you need to acquire and paint one. I wonder if a dial restorer would be able to do the paint/printing job if needed.

That's good to know, thanks. When I read "dial restorer" I read "$$$", but maybe an Asian specialist might do it at a sum that makes sense. It's a suggestion I'm glad for anyway.
