I am thinking about an Orient Star but I really don't know much about the Star line of Orient. I have several Orients almost all of which Ilike. If I were to compare the orient star with a Seiko what would that watch be? How good are the Orient movements? I have read the posted reviews but there is little talk about the movement.
thanks for any thoughts

I had an Orient, and an Orient Star. The Star was several steps up from the basic Orient. I had the Orient Star Retrograde and it was very nice. I didn't have any SARBs or others to compare it to, but just on the face of it, I thought it was well worth the money.

Which Star are you looking at?

I havea n Orient Star Classic and a SARB017.
The Orient was far more accurate out of the box, while the 6R15 in the SARB has been slow, even after 6 months use. I waited for a while for it to settle, and it looks like it is going to be consistently slow.
I took the back off to regulate it today, and the 6R15 is a tidy movement but I noticed some scratches on it which disappointed me a bit. The Orient movement is pristine.

I have a Orient Star the accuracy is within COSC couldn't believe it.

But as for its cosmetic may not be better than Seiko.

Cant go wrong with Orient neither with Seiko.
SARB and Star line are really good long lasting watches.
Just get what you like best designwise.
