Hi all,

For a long time I had been trying to find a source of spare parts for Orients, and no one on any forum had been able to give an answer whether they were available in the same way Seiko parts are. There was always lots of vague speculation, but no concrete answer.
Well there is now, I emailed Orient in Japan direct to find out and this is their response:

"We basically supply spare parts for overseas models to our official service center only."

So there you have it - you can't get parts for your Orient watch.
And here I was bagging the Swiss for starting to restrict their supply...

It's a war that cannot be won in IMO. The watch companies could lose in court, but would find another way to do the same thing.

To my knowledge, you can't just walk in off the street and buy parts for your Rolls Royce (someone like clockbloke may want to correct me on this), so restriction of parts in the cars isn't exactly a level playing field either. Toyotas are a different story.
