Orange 6105 Dial?

Was there ever an original orange 6105 from Seiko? I was trolling the interweb and came across several pictures of orange 6105 dials. One is obviously re-lumed. Were these aftermarket dials available at one time? I must have one! Anyone know where/who they came from and if they're still available?

I would say modded dial, however its a murky gray area......
Strictly speaking I would say a dial made by a third party that uses the Seiko logo is not aftermarket, it is fake.
So if it didn't say Seiko on the dial you'd be cool with it as an homage dial? Like the Tsunami is an homage? I can see that.

Pretty much but it also goes without saying that the quality of the dial needs to be top notch (woops, I said it anyway :))
Sorry, late to the party here.

This was a project I completed about seven years ago. This original 6105 dial was macked with substantial water damage. I almost threw it away. I had been swapping emails with Ramon aka "thewatchcollector" from the Philippines. He mentioned that he had someone he works with that was able to redial 6309 and 6105 dials in different colors. I think he could do white, black, silver, red, yellow, blue, and orange. I went for the orange color. I also sent him the corroded set of hands with the dial which were refurbed and relumed to match the dial. I was more blown away by the results on the corroded hands, they were pretty bad. They had to have been re rodium plated or something. I never followed up on how he did the hands. I think the result was pretty cool. I took awhile to get them back, as I recall it about four or five month wait. I don't know if he still offers this service.

I was fun to read the opinions about "aftermarket" in the above responses. The watch is composed of all seiko factory parts less the martec band. I would just say the dial has been artistically updated to it's present orange state.

Just out of interest, if one was to have an original 6105 redone in orange would it then be classed as a modded dial or a fake ?
IMO modded ;)

Looks great and nice it has the original parts:)
Do you recall how much he charged you for the dial and hand refurb?
Mark
Hi Mark,

This was done over seven years ago. I would email Ramon via ebay and ask if he still has this service available. His handle is "thewatchcollector".

Let us know if he still does this. I cannot recall the cost.
I think a blue dial would look amazing imho. Blue/ silver edges of hour markes and whitish lume.
