Orange 6105 Dial?

Was there ever an original orange 6105 from Seiko? I was trolling the interweb and came across several pictures of orange 6105 dials. One is obviously re-lumed. Were these aftermarket dials available at one time? I must have one! Anyone know where/who they came from and if they're still available?

Strictly speaking I would say a dial made by a third party that uses the Seiko logo is not aftermarket, it is fake.

I would agree with you, somehow third party Seiko dials seem to be known as aftermarket but for example, Rolex dials are called fake.
Maybe the difference is that Rolex can supply 'service dials' which would be real Rolex dials but not correct for the watch, whereas Seiko cant so there is little option but to use a third party dial, semantics maybe but I see the difference.

In an odd way, the fact this is so obviously (to WIS's) not an original dial due to the color, I find it less offensive than 'copies' of Seiko dials by aftermarket dial makers. I love Orange watches, and honestly, think this is kind of cool, for what it is, a non-original dial on a classic watch. The use of Seiko's hallmark on a non-Seiko dial is understandably concerning to some, but given its obvious this isn't original somehow lessens the outrage I might otherwise have.

My thoughts to a tee. I'd actually really like to find one.

i believe that is because in the the seiko world, there is this thing called modding. in the rolex world this would all be called fake

If I had a 6105-8110 that had no better fate than to be modded and my choice was to go orange I would either use a nicely done dial from Jake B. Or Harold N. or I would adapt an actual Seiko dial. I would not use a s##tty faked dial that is misusing the Seiko name. Fortunately I have no such temptations as I only have one 6105 and it stays as is.

Well, yes it is. But seriously, if you were going to mod a 6105, a precious watch, wouldn't you want to use as high quality a dial as you could? The three sources I named are the only reasonable avenues that I can see.

I never said I was modding a 6105. That would be lunacy these days and I pitty the poor sods that did mod theirs years ago. This would be for a TST. I thought it would be cool.

And yet it is being asked whether Seiko produced it... It has the "Seiko" name on it. Being obvious to you or me doesn't mean it's obvious to everyone.

Your original post was only about 6105's so the logical inference was that you wanted an orange 6105. There are however many high quality orange dial options for a TST without resorting to badly done fake Seiko dials.

Just out of interest, if one was to have an original 6105 redone in orange would it then be classed as a modded dial or a fake ?
