An amazing 200 year old alarm clock, right through wrist watch development, mechanical accuracy problem solving, quartz revolution and mechanical resurgence, with lots of close ups including first Grand Seiko, Lord Marvel hi beat and first quartz.
To be honest, there isn't much current stuff - a visit to the present Grand Seiko studio is sadly missing at the end and would have been the icing on the cake for me, but it's well worth watching over a cup of coffee, especially if you are supposed to be stripping the wallpaper off the hall, landing and stairs while the wife is out shopping .
Hope you can see the link wherever you live - it's on You Tube, called 'Beginning Japanology' series, episode 'Watches and Clocks'. (Maybe someone can turn this link blue and clickable if you know how, or else just copy and paste it).
