So I have a weird question about my nh35a. I have been wearing my MWW No 4 diver for over a month now and was +/- 2-4sec a day. At first if I placed it face up it would gain time. About a week ago it stopped doing it. When I move the watch around it sounds like the rotor isn't moving as freely as it should. It also has been running slow -3 to 5sec. I know this is ok, well within parameters. So my big question is this...is the rotor loud or quiet in a nh35a and should I take it in. The watch was new when I bought it. Thank you

How do you mean about the rotor not moving as freely?

Generally speaking.... The rotor will wind the mainspring, and if it's not moving freely, it won't wind it as efficiently, and as a result, your power reserve will diminish. First thing is to see how long it runs when set down after you've worn it for a few active days (i.e., not just during a few days of desk work) during which it will have had a chance to wind fully. In my experience, the Nh35/4rXX/7sXX movements have a fair amount of positional variation - if I wear it on the weekend (i.e., more active) versus during the work week (i.e., not as active), then the rate can vary by a few seconds one way or the other. Nothing you've described is alarming, so I'd check out the power reserve and go from there.

Ok. It died after 3 days which is the power reserve, it about -4 sec a day now but it wont speed up anymore when laying dial up at night. It did until just recently. Thank you for your input.

Sure thing. I gotta say, -4 sec/day is pretty darn good for that movement. Going from + 2-4 sec to -4 sec is only an 8 second swing. Again, pretty good for that movement. Doesn't sound like anything's wrong - just wear it and enjoy it!

OP, the 4R35/NH35 power reserve is listed as 41 hours. I own 15 or so 4R3X’s and that’s about right. Your claim of 3 days is rubbish.

I therefore question this whole accuracy thread.

As lawyers say, “ False on one, False on all”

Ok mister lawyer. I put in the wrong amount of days, so sorry to offend you. Now back to the others. I am trying what you said earlier and letting the watch sit and see how long it lasts. -4 is good I know, it was just weird that it won't speed up like it did when laid face up. Anyway thank you for all the advice. I appreciate it.
