For the SLA series, SEIKO has messaged (through 2 different Boutique salesmen) that substituting stamped and lumed dials without an applied logo allow for a more robust dive watch because "that way the logo can't fall off underwater and stop the mechanism". Ridiculous obviously !

So by extension that explains their design rationale. Yeah, right :(

Wish they had used more 6105 profile "double folded" hour and minute hands. These look to be the SPB151 style "single fold" style.

Overall quite nice

Price for a 6R35 is again a reflection of the suits at SEIKO moving the brand upscale but sorry there no real reason base on cost to manufacture.

So we have 6105-8000 and Arnie reissues and a new Seiko 5 GMT all in one day, that's really nice, and all three look quite good! Not sure why they don't offer a bracelet option with the black SPB317 though :(

Edit: These new GMTs are powered by the 4R34, so here is straight from the SEIKO manual that the crown can be used to move the 24 hour hand independently of the normal hands:
